Morgan E. Locklear, Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina
Furman University
Health Care
Morgan is a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. She is studying health sciences at Furman University and aspires to provide accessible health care to Native American communities. Recognizing that American Indian communities are disproportionately affected by treatable eye diseases, she wants to specialize in ophthalmology to provide treatments that will improve quality of life. She serves as president of her University’s Native American and Indigenous Association and acts as community coordinator for volunteerism with the organization Servants for Sight. Morgan also loves to travel and has shadowed health care professionals serving Tribal communities in Cambodia.
