Environment
David grew up with the Everglades as his backyard, where he developed his passion for the environment. He conducts experimental research in quantitative ecology and eco-toxicology, and his dedication to the natural sciences earned him the Goldwater Scholarship. He is a two-time Yale Conservation Scholar, an initiative where he studied biogeochemistry, plant ecology, and environmental justice. He served on the delegation of the American Chemical Society to the United Nations COP28, promoting science communication and environmental diplomacy related to the chemical enterprise. He plans to focus his future research on molecular plant physiology for policy implications in global biodiversity conservation. He enjoys museums, national parks, and RuPaul’s Drag Race.
