Environment
Julianne is an environmental engineering student passionate about water quality. She researches microplastics in wastewater, analyzing their concentrations, polymer types, and removal rates during different steps of the water treatment process. She is heavily involved on campus as the president of the American Society of Civil Engineers and project lead for Engineers Without Borders, building community gardens in Camden, NJ. Julianne is also a 2023 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Hollings Scholar, where she will be studying PFAS retrieval from passive water samplers in South Carolina this summer. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, researching emerging contaminants like PFAS, pharmaceuticals, and microplastics.
