Vancie is a third-year agricultural engineering student passionate about identifying and implementing climate mitigation solutions that synergistically address the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of agriculture. She conducts research in the BioEco Lab at Penn State assessing the environmental feasibility of agricultural practices. Vancie serves as the president of Penn State’s Student Farm and the director of food justice for Penn State’s student government. Additionally, she is a student farm intern. She also began Penn State’s first on-campus community vegetable garden with the goal of empowering students with food growing skills, bringing affordable produce to campus, and creating a permanent, physical reminder that students can make change.
