Matthew A. Salm

Matt is a McDermott Scholar at the University of Texas at Dallas. He studies mathematics, economics, and political science. He plans to pursue graduate education in environmental economics and work on policy issues surrounding the economics of climate change. At UT Dallas, Matt interned in the Office of Sustainability, founded the university’s chapter of Food Recovery Network, worked as a teaching assistant for an honors physics course, and served as president of the school’s Sustainability Club. He has researched environmental conservation in Bhutan and interned at the EPA’s National Center for Environmental Economics. Matt enjoys spending his free time running, playing soccer, and doing pretty much anything outdoors.
