Joleece is an enrolled member of the Ho-Chunk Nation and has heritage from the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, Oneida, and Menominee Nations. She is double majoring in American Indian studies and art at the University of Minnesota and intends to pursue a juris doctorate with a concentration in Indian law. As a scholar and artist, she devotes her work toward authentic Native American representation and advocacy. She is an intern at the Circle of Indigenous Nations, a co-president of the American Indian Student Cultural Center, and a captain of an all-Native intramural basketball team. Joleece is also working on preserving and revitalizing her culture through language, ceremony, dance, and community gatherings.
