Ashley is an environmental science major and studio art minor at American University who is passionate about connecting society to nature through communicable, engaging science. Much of her time is dedicated to food justice initiatives, including serving as co-President of AU's Community Garden, implementing garden-based education through FRESHFARM FoodPrints, and researching cultural narratives that compose the history of Victory Gardens as a horticultural/education intern with Smithsonian Gardens. She is also a recipient of the Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship and looks forward to her upcoming project creating immersive educational programming from coral photogrammetry models. In her free time, she enjoys punk shows, playing the banjo, hiking, and making art.
