David Brown
Executive Director
Dr. David Brown has been the Executive Director of the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation (Udall Foundation) since September 2019. He came to the Udall Foundation following a 20-year career as a climate scientist, climate services provider, and educator, during which time he published over 40 peer-reviewed and technical publications and taught introductory, advanced, and graduate courses at three universities. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, David was Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Southern Plains Climate Hub and Acting Director of its Grazinglands Research Laboratory, both located in El Reno, Oklahoma. David also served as the Southern Region Climate Services Director for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and held tenure-track faculty appointments at Louisiana State University and the University of New Hampshire, where he was also the New Hampshire State Climatologist.
David holds a B.S. degree in Meteorology from Penn State University and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Geography from the University of Arizona.
