Marco D. Ovando, Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Reservation

Marco is a citizen of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Reservation, a descendant of the Tosawihi “White Knife” band of Western Shoshone, and descendant of the Mapuche of south-central Chile. He will graduate from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science in political science. Marco serves in various capacities advising university leadership and sitting on the Intertribal Agriculture Council Youth Advisory Board as the Northwest Representative. After graduating, Marco plans on pursuing a Master of Law Studies or a Juris Doctorate to advocate and defend Tribal natural resource rights and sovereignty in the West.
