Meet Our Interns

Jada B. Allen, Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina
Duke University

Jada is a citizen of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and was raised in Robeson County. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in public policy, minoring in global health, and earning a health policy certificate at Duke University. She is involved with the Native community on campus and in the Triangle through the Native American/Indigenous Student Alliance and Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc. Jada is a former member of the National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) Youth Advisory Council, where she gained insight into the Federal urban Native health system. After undergrad, she intends to pursue a Juris Doctorate and master’s in public health, integrating public health and Indian law. Jada is dedicated to developing and protecting Native Nations’ sovereignty over their healthcare systems, with a particular interest in behavioral health policy.
