Portia K. Skenandore-Wheelock, Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin
Syracuse University

Portia Kayanthos (She Plants Gardens) Skenandore-Wheelock, wolf clan, is Haudenosaunee from the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin. Traditions of activism and advocacy are in her blood and Portia continues her family’s service and commitment to their Tribal community and to Indian country. She is concurrently pursuing a J.D. at Syracuse University College of Law and an M.P.A. at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Her graduate and professional studies are focused on social welfare policy, advanced property studies, and economic development to maximize the health and security of our families and communities.
