ETHERTON GALLERY, BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF TUCSON AND UDALL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCE UPCOMING ART EXHIBIT

The Etherton Gallery, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson and the Morris K. and Stewart L. Udall Foundation are pleased to announce a photographic art exhibit featuring images taken by middle-school youth during trips to the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas as part of the Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus program.
Parks in Focus: Photographs will kick-off a fundraising drive to support a new community development initiative for Tucson youth. The opening reception for Parks in Focus: Photographs is Thursday, September 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and the exhibit will be displayed from September 7 to October 12, 2010, at the Temple Gallery.
Etherton Gallery, which manages the Temple Gallery, invited Parks in Focus to exhibit this work. Temple Gallery is located in SoCo at the Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott Avenue in downtown Tucson. A portion of the proceeds from the show will go to the Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus program.
The mission of the Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus Program is to connect under resourced youth to nature through photography, yet during our action-packed excursions to awesome public lands, we're able to do so much more. Parks in Focus combines tried-and-true photography and environmental education lessons with active, hands-on outdoor adventures guided by passionate and knowledgeable leaders who push personal boundaries and create community. The Udall Foundation is currently seeking both in-kind and monetary donations for the new initiative. One hundred and twenty middle-school Club members are expected to participate this year. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson is to provide building-centered programs, professional staff and a safe environment to assist youth in developing self-esteem, values and skills. The Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation is an independent federal agency located in Tucson, Arizona. The Foundation carries on the legacies of both men through a number of programs, among them, education programs designed to foster a passion and commitment for the nation's natural resources in the next generation.
