Chad Brown is from the tribes of Santo Domingo Pueblo, Santa Clara Pueblo, and the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. He is a forestry student at Northern Arizona University, focusing on fire ecology and management as well as forest health and restoration. He has worked for various tribal forestry departments in Wisconsin, Montana, and New Mexico as a BIA TREES Pathways intern. An important aspect of his goals is to mentor native youth who share an interest in the natural sciences. Chad wants to promote the health and vigor of his tribes’ forests by bringing education and experience to his community.
