Madelyn M. Smith

Madelyn is a sophomore at Louisiana State University studying natural resource ecology and management, with a minor in painting and drawing. She is the president and co-founder of LSU's Sierra Student Coalition and volunteers at LSU's student farm. Madelyn recently published a photography book entitled Louisiana Gone, featuring black and white portraits and interview segments of southern Louisianans native to communities threatened by coastal land loss. Madelyn is passionate about putting her interest in fine arts to work for environmental justice. She loves film photography, yoga, cycling, gardening, and backpacking.
