Christina M. Hughes

Christina is a junior civil and environmental engineering major who grew up in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia. She is passionate about environmental remediation and researches groundwater contamination in the Water Resources and Hydrology Department at Rice. She has spent the past three years developing health and sanitation campaigns in Nicaraguan communities with Engineers without Borders and plans to pursue a career in sustainable development. Last year she founded a campus bike share system and currently serves as head of the Rice Eco-Rep program, which provides students with resources to reduce their environmental impacts. Christina is a TV buff and enjoys anything involving puns.
