Yuan Huang
Yuan is pursuing a major in geography & urban studies and a minor in environmental studies at Temple University. She was president of Temple Community Garden, a group of Temple students that develops gardening programs for at-risk youth in North Philadelphia. During the summer of 2011, she spent three months conducting diet and urbanization research in rural and urban China. Recently, Yuan spent four months in Tokyo studying and researching disaster prevention. This summer, she will be working in the City of Philadelphia’s Mayor’s Office as a Summer VISTA coordinator. In her spare time, she enjoys tasting different cuisines of the world.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
