Anne M. Preston
Since working on organic farms in New Zealand, Anne has had a desire to cultivate environmentalism in others through something we all enjoy: food. She works transforming vacant lots into community gardens, parks, orchards and urban farms in Philadelphia. Anne plans to follow her career at Temple University working to develop an urban community food system that addresses food insecurity while providing jobs, educational programs, and opportunities for community engagement. When she is not wearing a straw hat and weeding in the gardens, Anne wears a veil while tending to the thousands of bees she keeps in the city.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
