Carol is a Diné woman of the Red House Clan from St. Michaels, AZ. Currently attending the University of Arizona, she is a double major in public health and physiology. Carol plans to pursue a career in community health on the Navajo Reservation. Carol’s interest in the health field sprouted from providing care to her grandmother with diabetes, and her exposure to an NGO called the International Alliance for the Prevention of AIDS (IAPA), with whom Carol taught HIV education in Chennai, India, in 2011. As the current coordinator for IAPA’s summer volunteer program, she will be helping current volunteers transition and navigate Chennai, India.
