Keioshiah A. Peter

Keioshiah is a sociology major with a concentration in human services and a minor in Native American studies at the University of New Mexico. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in public health and a career as a public health specialist and substance abuse counselor on the Navajo Reservation. At 16, she became a certified ropes course instructor and started volunteering with Indian Health Services to help promote physical and mental health. Keioshiah interned through AISES at the Veterans Affairs Office in Washington, DC last summer. She also volunteers at the Native Health Institute and serves as treasurer for the UNM KIVA Club.
