Samuel M. Koplinka-Loehr
Sam was born in Labrador, Canada, and grew up outside of Ithaca, NY. Sam is an environmental justice major at Middlebury College in Vermont, and is part of anti-racism organizations on campus as well as president of the Middlebury United For Undergraduate Socio-Economic Diversity group. Some past projects Sam has worked on include converting a school bus to run on veggie-oil, helping to build an off-the-grid solar home, and hitchhiking throughout the Northeast United States. For part of the summer, Sam plans on being in Yunnan, China, doing environmental justice research. He also enjoys theatre, meditation, and going for walks with friends.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
