Ingrid V. Stearns
Sonoma State University

Ingrid is an environmental studies and planning major at California’s Sonoma State University, with a concentration in conservation science and restoration ecology. She is passionate about connecting people to nature and leads guided hikes for school and adult groups in the redwood forests and on the Sonoma coast. She is spearheading a movement to create a regional network of Quests—interactive nature treasure hunts that teach people how to see and understand the unique features of a place. Ingrid’s goal is to integrate land conservation with place-based education, to create an ecologically literate community that values its open spaces.
