Saskia H. Versteeg
Saskia attends the University of Texas at Dallas, where she studies physics and environmental studies. She works in the university’s new office of sustainability and has led efforts to establish an environmental studies minor, Recyclemania programs, and green campus tours. Her research at the COP15 Copenhagen Climate Conference and later at the Water Institute in the Netherlands has encouraged her to become a coastal engineer working on climate adaptation projects in developing nations. This fall, she will travel to the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Berlin, Germany, to work on a project studying ocean physics and climate tipping points.

How can you describe a weekend of student leaders from across the U.S. with an intense passion to change the world? The Orientation was a phenomenal experience to meet and build connections that I'm sure will last a lifetime.
