Distinguished Alumnus Award

The Udall Foundation invites nominations for The Terrence L. Bracy Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Established in honor of Terry Bracy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1994-2011, the Distinguished Alumnus Award recognizes outstanding contributions from Udall alumni in four principal areas of public service: conflict resolution, environmental work, health care (including social services), and tribal public policy.

Deadline: February 22, 2012

Udall alumni, Udall Foundation staff, and Udall Foundation faculty representatives may submit nominations. Alumni of the undergraduate scholarship, Native American congressional internship, and Ph.D. dissertation fellowship are eligible.

A selection committee composed of Udall Foundation staff, alumni, and members of the Foundation Board of Trustees will select three finalists who will be invited to submit additional materials. The selection committee will choose the winner from among the three finalists. The winner, and his or her achievements, will be recognized on www.udall.gov and invited to speak at one of the following: the Udall Scholar Orientation; the Internship Reception; or the fall Board of Trustees dinner.

Nominations should consist of:

  • Nominee’s name, program and year, and contact information;
  • A summary sentence describing the reason for the nomination;
  • Outstanding service example(s) and community impact;
  • Any supporting documents such as news articles, letters of support from organizations affected, video clips, etc.; and
  • Nominator’s name and contact information.

Nominations should be emailed to Jane Curlin, Senior Program Manager, Udall Foundation: curlin@udall.gov by February 22, 2012.
