Courtney Owen

Senior Program Associate

Courtney Owen is a Senior Program Associate at the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation’s (Udall Foundation) John S. McCain III National Center for Environmental Conflict Resolution (National Center). She provides support to various environmental collaboration and conflict resolution (ECCR) projects related to oceans, fresh water, Native resources and Endangered Species Act and National Environmental Policy Act compliance. She conducts conflict assessments, leads process design, and facilitates collaborative conflict resolution efforts using innovative strategies. She has also worked on National Center leadership initiatives, including the ECCR Policy Forum, to facilitate exchange of information among Federal staff as well as provide outreach support and guidance on ECCR.

Prior to the Udall Foundation, Courtney worked for Engility Corporation on international development issues, specifically related to energy infrastructure, gender programs, and financial development for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. She also worked for Oceana, conducting research, GIS mapping, and developing campaigns on climate change in the United States.

Courtney graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., and the United Nations University for Peace in Costa Rica with a dual Master of Arts in International Environmental Affairs/Natural Resources and Sustainable Development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Salisbury University in International Relations and Conflict Analysis & Dispute Resolution.
